Salo Food Park: 3-Storey Colorful Food Spot at the Heart of Manila (Malate Manila)
Malate, Manila, 1004 Metro Manila, Philippines
Last May 11, I attended the Grand Opening of Salo Food Park. To be honest, it wasn't my first time. It was such a cool place so I've checked it out before.
And according to a client, this is his ideal place for solitary dinning. As you all know, I've always shared with you about eating out with the company of friends and family. I always looks at eating as a social activity. But, I guess it could also be a comforting way to spend some time alone.
Goto Monster
Happy to try one of their new Ice Cream Pop flavor : Mango Sticky Rice which was really good!
Otora
Salo Bites
Potato chip munchers would not be able to resist the Salted Egg Chips from Salo Bites.
Ersao
Takoichi
Sugba
You can see that they are fresh off the grill.
The Bulad Platter is a mix of dried fishes. I just learned while ordering that Bulad means dried fish in Cebuano.
Hyun's Table Project
ChurroBing
Above Sea Level
Amigos Filmex Cantina
Tsinoy Foodies Verdict
There are no place in Malate like Salo Food Park. With so many schools and offices nearby, I'm sure they are happy to have this colorful food spot to hang out at.

But there are still many food joints to try that I was as excited to go as my first time.
Aside from the food and drinks, I'm enchanted by the bright colorful lights, graffiti arts and industrial architecture.
It's a great place to chill with friends and family.
It could also be a good dating spot.

Goto Monster
Happy to see a familiar food joint. I have shared about Goto Monster before.

Otora
Otora looks really good! I'll try that on my next visit!
Salo Bites
Potato chip munchers would not be able to resist the Salted Egg Chips from Salo Bites.
Ersao
A food bar that needs no introduction is Ersao. Their Spicy Squid is a family favorite since my high school years.
Takoichi
One of my most favorite Japanese snacks is Takoyaki. Too bad my visit was always set for dinner.
Sugba
Sugba has a lot of grilled options.
You can see that they are fresh off the grill.
Chorizo de Cebu (99 php)
For less than a 100 bucks, you already have a lot of options.
Sinugbang Hipon (99 php)
During work lunch, my work mates discuss random things. Thanks to them I got to learn that Shrimp and Prawns don't different in size but in five ways: body form, body shape, claw-like legs, gills and eggs.

ChurroBing
The ChurroBing is an interesting food concept because it combines the Spanish Churros and Korean Bingsu. They also have other Korean fusion dishes.
Milk Ice Cream with Long Churros (130 php)
I loved the Milk Ice Cream with Long Churros! It's better than having the usual chocolate dip.
Shake ! Shake ! Kani Salad
The Shake ! Shake ! Kani Salad made eating something so healthy so much fun. I didn't think Udon could be eaten deliciously with some greens.
Above Sea Level
I heard their Giant Butterfly Squid is a must try.
Amigos Filmex Cantina
I'm intrigued by the FilMex concept of Amigos.
Beef and Cheese Quesadillas (180 php)
The Beef and Cheese Quesadillas was good. I hope to try their Burritos next time.

Bollywood Treats: Affordable Authentic Indian Cuisine For Vegan and Non-Vegans (Century Mall Makati)
There are only a few places in Metro Manila especially in Makati City that serves Indian food and Vegan food alike so I was quite excited to discover Bollywood Treats at the lower ground floor of Century Mall.
Unlike other stalls, it offers a very homey and simple vibe.
I think that's nice because when I'm taking a break from work, the best ambiance I'd wish for is one that is close to home.
Food
Not only does Bollywood Treats offer Vegan selections, they offer them at a very low price! Their Samosa is only 35 php per piece when you order by twos.
I didn't know that Indian Cuisine has its version of shawarma. The Chicken Roti Roll is best eaten when hot and fresh.
If you want to try most items on their menu, go for their Sample Platter. There are two versions of this: Vegan and Non-Vegan. I chose the Non-Vegan which comes with Chicken Curry, BBQ Chicken, Beef Kebab or Beef Curry, Keema and Rice.
Vegan/Vegeterian Menu
Looking for an affordable healthy side dish? The Baingan is a great choice.
My friends enjoyed their Vegetarian Sample Platter with Chole, Dal and Rice.
Tsinoy Foodies Verdict
With Bollywood Treats, you can now enjoy an authentic Indian, healthy, hearty and even Vegan-friendly meals. The price is way cheaper than most meals served in the food courts along Makati.

A family friend suggested that we try their family favorite shawarma so he brought us to Nepo Mall in Angeles City Pampanga and led us to a stall named Passport Foods.
Crowds seem to gather to buy from it. Customers come and go non-stop. They have only 3 food items: Beef Lebanon Shawarma w/ cheese, Chicken Lebanon Shawarma w/ cheese and Samosa. We wanted to try everything but only the Beef Lebanon Shawarma is available.
We watched as the staff prepared our Beef Lebanon Shawarma. Instead of rolling the shawarma with the meat inside, they cut the pita and use the pockets to place the ingredients.
So here it is! Indeed, the Beef Lebanon Shawarma is good. It is distinct in taste I guess because of their special sauce. The meat is chunky and seasoned enough.
Tsinoy Foodies Verdict
Passport Foods Lebanon Shawarma is an interesting shawarma to try for shawarma fans out there. If you're in Pampanga, check it out!
